Subaru Konoe (近衛スバル, Konoe Subaru), also known by her all-female guise, Punyuru Takanashi (小鳥遊ぷにゅる, Takanashi Punyuru) is the female protagonist/deuteragonist of Mayo Chiki.
Appearance[]
She has light orange hair, soft blue eyes, and a petite stature (165 cm). Her attire is usually a butler's outfit, comprised of a black tailcoat and suit pants worn with a red necktie and white button-up, the latter of which has a wing-tipped collar. Over her button up is a light grey vest with dark brown accents. Her hair is tied in a ponytail with a dark brown ribbon. At times she wears a dress, usually with her hair down. The dress is mahogany and white in color and is an old-fashioned two piece. The accompanying shirt has a laid-down collar that extends midway down her upper torso; the cuffs to her shirt and the collar are accented in the same color used in the dress. The dress itself has cross-stitching from her torso down to the top of the skirt, that of which has a white fleece underskirt. With this outfit, she wears black dress shoes and thigh-high stockings, complimenting the outfit with a purple ribbon.
As Punyuru, she maintains the same appearance as herself except her hair is long and wears red framed glasses.

Kinjirō Sakamachi[]
On the initial meeting, the relationship between these two could be described as "victim and assaulter". Upon discovery of her secret, Subaru immediately went to silence (note: kill) Kinjirō. However, she stood down after the reception of orders from Suzutsuki Kanade. They immediately became acquaintances, and later on good friends and were misunderstood as male lovers.
Kinjirō understands that Subaru is a girl, and has been more intimate with her than his condition would normally allow. But disregarding all of that, he understands her fears, complexes and position. Knowing all of that, he tries to help her out in any way he can, even if it costs him his well-being. However he feels about Subaru concerning love, it is safe to say that Kinjirō thinks of her as an extremely close friend with an interesting life.
Subaru used to be an extremely wary person, who wouldn't let anyone get close to her for the sake of her secret. However, Kinjirō finding out about it led to them becoming friends. And at first she was hostile, but then they grew closer and closer to each other. She traversed from being acquaintances to good friends, to best friends, to comrades, to being in love with Kinjirō; by the end of the manga, they officially became a couple/engaged.
